Gobble Gobble in Hull & London

Hello World!

Last week was filled with 'Gobble Gobble', or Thanksgiving as it is more commonly known, my favorite holiday of all time!!  I don't really remember what all happened last week, although that does seem to happen quite often. But I do remember what happened on part of Wednesday and Thursday, so that is all that is important!   What I remember of Wednesday was just the Family Dinner.  It was Catherine's turn to cook and we had a delicious Breakfast for dinner.  It consisted of Pancakes, sausage links, fresh fruit, and a fruit sauce with Canadian Syrup.  The best syrup that I have ever had in my whole entire life!

Thanksgiving Day in England, not good.  First of all I HAD to go to class, what a crap situation that was.  But I guess that was the only crap part of the day, after that it was all better :)   When class was over I went back home and started to get thing ready for later that day when we would be cooking our Turkey, Jedodiah, make stuffing, and gravy.  Thankfully I made the homemade rolls the day before, otherwise that would have been way to much stuff needing the ovens attention.  Anyway, since it was Thanksgiving and I was upstairs working on a little homework/watching a movie, while I was doing that the rents Skyped me.   It was nice to talk to them for a while.   However I had things to do so I had to get going on that, aka. get turkey ready.  We cut up the herbs and garlic and layered it on top of him, then added some butter and stuffed the turkey with some of the stuffing.  Gently we placed him in the oven for about 3.5-4 hours and watched our little one slowly die a painful death.  That is after I chopped part of his neck off so that it would fit in the pan.  Sorry.  :D

 Looking Good :)

All done, and taking the stuffing out.
 The Feast!
The decorations that Florian altered.
Quite creative that one.

Poor Baby, he didn't make it....

The next day came and I was headed off to London after my class.  I was going down to visit Dacia and James for the weekend.  That night we went out to Pizza Hut (US is WAY better than what they have here!  They like to put chicken on everything, and even have some corn on their pizza.  Weird)  But after our pizza was ate and packed up in our doggy bag we went out to this Rock and Roll bar where we just chilled for a bit.  When our drinks were finished we headed home to just relax, we were going to have a big day on Saturday.  When Saturday came we had to get up at 6:15 so that we could be on the road by 7:15.  Dacia and I were going to Birlington to The Great Food Show, where we were meeting up with James's Mom, Aunt & 3 cousins.    With Dacia's impeccable driving skills it only took us 1.5 hours, and man did it go fast.  :)  After we had arrived and met everyone we went in to see the Cook off.

At the Great Food Show, The Cookoff  US vs UK
Unfortunately the guy from the US lost, but he did do a full thanksgiving meal in 20 minutes!  And the judges seem to like his more than the other guys, but they still didn't choose him.  :(

When the show was over we split up into smaller groups and started walking around to see what was all there.  Now this was no easy task let me tell you.  First of all we did not come as prepared as everyone else (I prefer it that way), lets just say these people were ready to buy the whole place.  They would bring backpacks to hold the wine that they bought, these little push cart things, suitcases etc.  And they were not fun to walk around and were constantly in the way.   However, I did have fun other than the load of people.  After about 5 hours we headed back home to rest for a few hours before we left to Chiswick to a comedy club.

The Delicious Chocolate Liqueur that I bought.

One of James work friends was having a birthday party so we went there to celebrate. The first comedian was absolutely horrendous, he was very unique in his jokes and how he presented them, but they were not funny.  Thankfully the 2nd and 3rd comedian were much better, they were hilarious!  When the show was over we walked back into the bar and had ourselves a few more drinks.  :)

Sunday morning came and we started on our Thanksgiving Feast.  Peeling Potatoes, cutting fruit, making rolls, getting spices ready etc.  Finally it was time to open the turkey and rub the butter mixture all over and stuff it with onions, garlic and herbs.  :)

Edward.  'The other Turkey'

Starting the Cranberry sauce... It was delicious
Edward is all baked and ready to be carved!

The dinner was delicious and am seriously going to have to make that cranberry sauce sometime soon, because it is all I have on my mind!  :p   After we were stuffed we just quietly sat on the couch and watched a soccer and tennis match, both of which I do not understand.  Ohh well, I just typed a little bit more of my paper.  Finally we called it a night and went to bed, I was going to be leaving early in the morning so I had to make sure all of my things were packed and ready to go.

The next morning I got up and we headed for the train station. Note to self and others, never travel after 8 til like 9:30....  It gets a little crowded and if you are some of the first ones on it is hard to get off at your stop.  But thankfully I managed to make it to Kings Cross with time to spare and made it home fine without any delays! Whew! :)  But I am tired and ready for bed... So until next time

Goodnight!

Mildenhall with Chinna Curry

Hello World,

Another week has flown bye and I don’t remember where all the time went!  Last week I was super busy getting ready for 2 presentations; one Thursday and the other on Friday.   Since I believe that I already told you about my Monday, I shall continue on with Tuesday.  Tuesday started out like any other day for me.  Got up early and went to class.  When class was over I knew that I needed to go shopping so I headed to the city center.  I knew that I needed to go to UK Discount, HSBC, and Tesco to get all my necessary Items.  I started out with UK discount, since it was the closest to where I got off and also that way it was in line for everything else I needed.  Anyway, I headed into the store to get some shampoo, conditioner, etc. when I got up to the checkout I handed them my credit card to swipe.  Note that they use chips in their card and don’t like swipe.  Once I handed her my card she told me that I was not able to use this card here (because it was a swipe).  Also note I have been to this store about 5 other times and have always used my card. I tried to nicely explain to her that I have used it here before and that she has to swipe it for me.  She called over her manager and asked her about it.  She knew nothing about it and said that she has never seen it before and is not authorized to let me use it.  Of course I am completely out of cash (and I mean I barely had enough for the bus) otherwise I would have said screw it and paid with cash.  So once I tolk her that I don’t have any cash and explained to her that I have used it here before she called her supervisor.  Finally, she was told how to do it and I was allowed to use my card. J  (If she listened to me before we would not have had that little problem)  Anyway, lets just say I am not going back there again, once I get mad at a store I will not go back for anything!  I left the store in a bad mood and continued on to the back where I got my much needed cash. Then continued on to Tesco where I just got some groceries, since I was basically out of any good food other than pasta.  With my groceries in hand I needed some change so I then treated myself to a Mocha  Frap. at Starbucks. With my mood finally beginning to lighten I headed back home to see about classes and do some much needed homework.
I started off by making sure all my classes for next semester were still open and available.  Ohh I guess I should have mentioned that it was registration day for UNI classes.  J  I  knew that I was going to take my Creative Photo 3, and Graphic Design 2.  After that I needed 2 science classes, a Capstone, and a lab.  I decided on Life: Continuity and Change, Elements of Weather, and a Capstone.  Unfortunately my capstone was full and the other ones were not going to fit into my schedule. I still needed 1 more class to fill my 15 credit hours.  I just threw Ceramics 2 in, just to fill a spot, and I really liked Ceramics.  The only problem was that I would then be taking 3 studio classes.  I knew I was not going to die if I took that many!  But what can you do when there is nothing else to take. A little while later I skyped with my Mother and we were talking about what I should and shouldn’t take.  I was looking into taking some German class, but she wanted me to take a Spanish one.  Now I really do want to learn how to speak Spanish, but I was a little worried that I would majorly fail at that subject. Ehh.  Sometimes a little kick in the butt is what I need to learn something.   So later that night was the only really good thing that happened that day. I got to talk to my BFF/Sister Kathleen on Skype for a LONG time!  Although it started out as a stress call on my end, it turned out to be a wonderful conversation.  The whole reason we started the call was because I was on facebook and was freaking out at her.  Well not exactly freaking out, but I was still slightly confused and stressed.   I signed up for classes at 9:30 your time (3:30 mine)_and at 9ish my time I still had not finalized my schedule.  Sine I talked earlier about the schedule I will no longer stay on that subject.  But here is the schedule for next semester:

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays

10-10:50 Spanish
12-12:50 Elements of Weather
1-2:50 Creative Photo 3

Tuesdays, Thursdays

8-9:15 Life: The Natural World
10-10:50 Spanish (Thursdays)
2-4:45 Graphic Design 2

Now of course since I really wanted to learn a new language I did decide to take  the Spanish class.  My only problem with it is that I had to re-arrance my schedule and I now have an 8 am class.  And 17 credit hours.  I don’t know if that was a good Idea (definitely not for the 8:00 one) but I shall at least try!!

Wednesday came and I had to get up at a horrible time in the morning.  Since my group had a 10 minute presentation the next morning we decided that we needed to meet to go over all the information that we needed, and also make sure out powerpoint was correct.  We met at 8:30 at the Library, thankfully they have some decently comfortable couches in there!  With the powerpoint being correct and everyone had all the information we needed we left to continue on with our day.  Although I was still a little tired from getting up so early, that did leave me with a nice chunk of free time/ homework time that I would have possibly spent sleeping through.  Finally I could catch up on some of my shows that I like to watch. Now just know that since we don’t have a TV, the only source of movie/tv time that we get comes through our computer.  Also a fun fact for you, not only do you have to buy a TV over here, but you would then have to pay over 100 pounds for a TV license every year.  Since most of the shows they watch are not from there they have to pay for the rights to watch those shows.  Interesting, right?   Anyways, the rest of my morning  and afternoon was filled with TV and Homework.  It was also Wednesday, and it was my turn to do  our Family Dinner.  I decided that I would make Homemade Chicken and Noodles.  The only way to eat Chicken and Noodles that is.  And mom, I think I did the recipe justice, Grandma Alberta would be proud J  When dinner was done and the dishes were in the sink for the boys to clean it was back upstairs to work on that damn Presentation for Friday.
Thursday came, and that meant Presentation time!   Thankfully I have been raised to be comfortable speaking in front of crowds.  THANK YOU 4-H!  (If anybody has kids out there, I would highly suggest enrolling them in 4-H, can make a world of difference when it comes to public speaking)  The presentation went without a hitch and when it was done I scooted back home to continue working on my presentation.  And that is what I did ALL DAY LONG!   Well minus that one 15 min nap and 30 min coffee break.  I was falling asleep at the computer and I needed some type of caffeine.  Unfortunately Mountain Dew is hard to come by and I didn’t feel like walking to Tesco, so I just had one of my instant Mochas.  I finally finished my presentation at about 10:00 that night, just in time for me to go to Hana’s Birthday Party.  I knew that I was not going to be there long, but I still needed to make an appearance.  AND I haven’t seen some of my friends in a LONG time, it was good to catch up with them!

Friday’s Presentation came and everything went smoothly.   I had to do a 20 minute presentation on Raphael's Tapestry Cartoons.  Along with my outline I had 1 Powerpoint, and 2 slide projectors helping me explain and show comparisons.  Thankfully I had no problem reaching my 20 minutes, actually I went over, but I think a lot of it had to do with him adding little bits of information here and there or correcting my pronunciation ( Americans do say things differently )  haha.  But after class was finished I headed back home, Svenja was coming over and we were going to catch up and drink our Instant Mochas.  :)  It was nice talking to her again, and now I shall see her and Steffi tomorrow (Tuesday) for Brunch!
It finally became 12ish and I headed off towards the Train Station. This weekend I went to Mildenhall to see my friend Chinna.  I had a little bit of a wait in Peterborough (my choice) so I decided to go shopping, not that I bought anything, but it was nice to see a few different stores and just walk around a different area.  After relaxing a little bit at Costa I headed back to the Train Station to see what train I needed to be on.  I got there about 30 minutes before my train left so I just sat and talked to another girl who was also waiting for a train.  I love talking to complete strangers! :)  But unfortunately my gate appeared so I headed off to find it.  With an already loaded train, we all crammed inside just hoping that it would go fast.   Arriving at Ely, I headed off the train in search of Chinna.  When she finally arrived I met one of her friends Darryl, who decided to come with her to pick me up.  Arriving on Base I got to see where Chinna worked, this is where I had to get my pass to be let on base.  After that was done we went to get food.  Burger King or Taco Bell... Burger King it was, and it was the typical American Burger King, THANK YOU LORD!!  (British one is not as good)  With our bellies full we headed up to her room to put my stuff away then we just talked for a while.  This is where I was able to meet a few of her friends, then we decided to go out the the Bar where we had a few drinks and met some more people.
The next morning we had to be up a 7, so Chinna could be at work by 8.  Yes, I went to work with her, it was either that or be left with somebody I didn't know for the day. (you have to be supervised the whole time you are on base) But it was fine, I finished reading my book, did a little homework, read some textbooks and got up to date on my IMovie project.  Productive day if I must say!  When work was over we headed back to her room so she could shower and get ready to leave.  We were going to go to Cambridge then out to eat.  Now, when we entered Cambridge a game had just gotten over and it was swarmed with people and cars!  Not Fun!  But we managed to get through it all and found a parking garage.  We walked around for a little bit then headed back to find a place to eat.  we were going to go to this little Italian Restaurant, but it was an 1.5 hour wait, so we went somewhere else.  After eating we left and went back to watch Greece and just relax from the day.  Now, I know that does not sound like fun, but there was a lot of little entertaining aspects in between getting home and the movie.  I won't talk about it all because It would take forever to write everything.  :)
Sunday was going to be a good day, we went to see Breaking Dawn.  Good Movie, wish there were more explanation and details at some parts, but what are you to expect.  Anyway, when the movie was finished we went to eat then walked around the stores at the Mall.  When our time ran out our meter we headed back home to chill.  The time finally came and I had to leave. :(   I did have a lovely time and I wish I could have stayed longer, but it was nice catching up with her.  I have not seen her since we graduated... I believe.

So until next time, GOODBYE!  and have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!

Great Schedule isn't it?   I think so, although if I could get rid of everything but traveling I would, but since I haven't done anything so far I might as well leave the few papers.

Ok, so I guess I shall tell you about my week!   I didn't do horribly much on Wednesday, well actually I got quite a bit done but nothing that would be interesting to you.  Can you guess what that is?  Yea, Homework.  I knew that I needed to get my butt moving on it, so I continued on with my outline.  I believe that I have 5 pages of outline so far, and not even close to being done! Then I have to start breaking down my points into just key facts and not actual sentences.   That is one thing that I have learned in college, although I don't believe that they learned that over here.  I have found with people's presentations that they like to read off the paper and don't speak freely.  Ohh well, different ways to do things.  Anyway you guys don't want to hear about that, so I will continue with Thursday.  This is where all the fun begins

Thursday I headed out at 10:30 to be at the Train station by 11:30.  This was my first time traveling alone, and I did good!   I went from Hull to Doncaster then Doncaster to London Kings Cross, took the undergound to Vauxhall then the train to Ashford where Dacia came to pick me up!  It was so good to see her!  So after she picked me up we went back to her place and she showed me around.  Very nice house, I like it a lot. When we got the call that James was finished with work we went to pick him up then went out to eat at The Harvester.  The next morning Dacia took James to the airport then we had the whole weekend to ourselves!  We didn't want to do much that day so we just went to Windsor Castle. (Pictures Below)  Going through the castle you realize how big it actually is!  If felt like we were walking forever.  That was OK though, I did see some amazing paintings by Leonardo, Rubens, etc. After our touring of the castle finished, we headed out to find some place to eat.  We chose Pizza Express, mainly because Dacia printed off some coupons for us.  :) With our pizzas gone we walked around the city and looked in a few shops, got some chai tea and peanut butter hot chocolate (so good, but should not have drank it all)  After that it was getting dark out, damn winter months, so we headed home to watch Grey's and just chill.

The next morning we tackled central London.   The first place we went to was the V&A Museum (Victoria and Albert) where I wanted to see the Raphael Cartoons for a presentation that I had to do this week.  After we wandered around the museum for a bit we finally found the Cartoons (with a little help of course).  When we were finally bored by the museum (we have very small attention spans) we went to a little bar.  This is Dacia trying to corrupt me.  Haha.  :)

When our first drink was down we walked down the street to go Ice Skating!!!

What can I say, Dacia has talent!!!  Although my photo skill were not very good on ice, we had a great time!   We only skated about 30 of the 50 minutes allowed.  The skates at first were NOT comfortable, but once we took a brake to adjust they were much better.   With the skates coming off we headed to our next destination.  Lunch.   We walked by High Park and stopped to watch a little match of roller hockey.  It made me miss rollerblading so much!   When the match was over we went to find a pub that had good food, good drinks and was reasonably priced.   Mission Accomplished.  With our bellies full we went and walked around.  We went to Picadilly Circus and while we were walking we got some roasted chestnuts.  Neither of us had had them before, so why not... we tried them.  Not bad.   Nothing spectacular, but they weren't something I would eat every day.

After a while we decided that it was time to head back to her house. We were going to lay on the couch and watch Private Practice and a movie (Our Idiot Brother, which was stupid and we only made it through half) After being bored with the movie, we went to Subway to get subs for supper.  Man was that confusing.  Haha.  When we went in I could not understand this guy and I don't think he understood me.  Enough Said.  When we got our subs we went back home and watched the X Factor then went upstairs to read.

The next morning we went out for Lunch.   I don't remember what the place was called, but it was delicious!  I had the cajun chicken calzone, yummmy :p   When we got back home it was nearly 1 and we laid on the couch and waited for Dacia to get the call from James to come pick him up from the Airport.  That time came so we loaded up and headed out.  With James in tow, we went back home and watched Rugby (well I did some homework).  A few hours later it was time for me to leave.  I had a complicated schedule to get back to Kings Cross so we made a new one.  James and Dacia were going to a comedy club that night so they dropped me off at the Richmond station on their way where I took the District line to victoria then took victoria to Kings Cross.  Much easier than going from Ashford to Richmond taking a bus to Clampton Junction then Clampton Junction to Victoria where I would take the underground to Kings Cross.  But I made it to Kings Cross with about a half hour to spare.  The funny thing was once I arrived my friend Audrey texted me and we just happened to be at the same station together!  Finally it was time to board the train to go home!  Its weird how much traveling can take out of you.

Now is the time where things start to go south and I don't just mean Texas south I mean so south that we are in South America.  Yea.  so after about 45 minutes on the train we stop in the middle of the tracks and learn that someone stole some of the cables up ahead so we were going to be stuck there for a while.   All of the trains were backed up and had to go one by one through the affected area.  If I ever find who stole them I will strangle them!  So being stopped for about an hour we are able to move again to a station where we can wait.  And of course we have to wait there again.  When we got closer to the affected area there was a cue of 7 trains that had to go ahead of us.  That took about another hour.  Finally it was our turn to go through.  Although it took a while we finally made it!  It doesn't sound as bad as it was, but spending the extra time on the train was boring and late!  So when we got to Doncaster It was 1:30.  Now be aware that I started the journey at Kings Cross at 8:05 and was suppose to be back in Hull before 11.   So since we missed all the trains to Hull from Doncaster they had to get us a cab to Hull.  There was about 20 of us that needed to go to Hull and very few taxi's.  There were 2 other Hull students that sat behind me, so we waited and went together.  One of the only good things that came out of it was that I got a full refund on my ticket and didn't have to pay for anything!  Whew.  Once I got back back home it was 3:00.  I was exhausted!

Not much has happened today and I will be doing a lot of sitting in my room doing homework.  So I should probably get to that.

So until next time!  Goodbye!  :)

Glasgow, Scotland

Hello World!

I am beyond tired right now, so this post may be short and sweet.  Who knows it may be just the opposite, we will just have to see.   Monday came and the Halloween celebration continued, although I had enough of Halloween everyone here seemed to be in absolute love with it.   Catherine and I did however make caramel apples.  They were delicious, and to make them even better we put cinnamon on top!   Lick your lips, rub your tummy scrumptiously delicious.  :)  That was basically the only major thing that happened on Monday, other than of course our wine tasting in class.

Tuesday was the day that I was going to start on my 2 presentations that were going to be due in 2 weeks.  One is just a partnered 10 minute for my Archaeology class and the other is a 20 minute for my Michelangelo class.   The partnered one is not a big deal, it is not graded and I am only going to have to speak for about 3 minutes on my part of our subject.  We are discussing different Roman towns and we have the town of Bath (Aquae Sulis).  I am in charge on finding information on the layout and the buildings in the town. Thankfully I already have all the information needed and just have to write it all out and put it into Powerpoint. The second presentation is a little harder because there are only 2 books in the Library (that i have found) that I can actually use. Unfortunately my luck is not with me for this presentation, someone has the books checked out.  I however reserved the one and it was suppose to be in on the 2nd.  Well it has still not been turned in, and it is quite frustrating and now I am searching google ebooks for information.  Thankfully I am finding some information that I can use!

Wednesday was suppose to be my day off, but it got switched with my Thursday.  We took a trip to York for my Archaeology class.   We went to the museum to look at some roman artifacts then walked around the town discussing how it was built and what was still left.  I didn't understand a lot of it, but I did understand enough that I wasn't bored.  Unfortunately Wednesday was a bit chilly and windy and it made being outside not very fun.  Don't even say it, yes I love the cold weather, but somedays I just don't want to deal with it.  When I got home I went upstairs to start doing who knows what anymore.  It was going to be family dinner night, and that meant it was Adams turn to cook.  It was quite good too, we had typical Poor Hungarian Food, as I remember he called it.  Haha.  It was Pasta with cottage cheese, sour cream and bacon.  May not sound appealing, but it was really interesting and good.  After dinner that night I went upstairs and got all the information I could and went downstairs to bake banana bread and do homework.  The good thing about baking for me is that I actually like doing homework while waiting for the bread to bake.  Maybe I should bake more when I have homework to do?  Hummn.  That's something to think about.

When Thursday came I had to get up decently early so that I could go shopping with Adam so we could get things for Catherine's Birthday.  Yes, Thursday was Catherine's 21st Birthday!  When all the shopping was done we headed back home so that I could bake her birthday cupcakes/cake. Finally I got to bake my Carrot Cake, it is both of our favorites!  When the Cake was baked and cooled I went upstairs to work on some homework and watched a movie.  About an hour before the party started I went downstairs and helped the boys decorate the living room.  It wasn't long after we finished that people started to show up.  It was a nice sized party, not too small not too big.  The party ended at about 2, and I was ready to go to bed!

Friday morning came way to early!!   Since I had been up late the night before I went to class in the most comfiest clothes that would be acceptable, aka jeans, t-shirt and moccasins.  Gotta love comfy clothes on a gloomy day.  During class we had presentations on Raphael's Madonna & Child and Portraits.  It was good to see how other people went about presenting their pieces, it is amazing how many different ways of presenting their are.  Finally class ended and I went back home to work on my presentation... again.  When I was exhausted and ready to take a break I went to the library to try and find more books to use.  Thankfully I found one very ancient book that I could possibly use I went, when that adventure was over I went back home to take a nap.  2 hours later I woke up and continued working on homework.  Not much happened after that other than packing for my trip to Glasgow the next day.

Saturday came as early as it felt, 5:47 is such a bad time to wake up!  But the day had to go on, so off to the shower and downstairs to get breakfast.  At 7:00 we left to meet up at Cranbrook 7 to go to the bus stop to catch the Train.  When we arrived at the station we had to check in and go find our dock.  This was my first time on a train!!   Man was it an experience, and it actually wasn't as confusing as I was thinking, but still confusing enough.  We went from Hull to Doncaster, Doncaster to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Glasgow.  After arriving in Glasgow we caught a cab to go to our hostel.  When we all settled in we went out to explore the city a little.  That night there was a fireworks showing for Guy Fawkes Day.  Although, I don't like fireworks (boring) I did enjoy just looking around the city.   When we first started walking around I was not impressed by Glasgow, but once we got downtown and started to see the city come alive it was quite nice.  I would NEVER be able to live there (way to big, with too many people), but it was a nice place to visit for a few days.  After the fireworks were over we left and caught the underground train back to the Hostel for dinner.   We made pasta with sauce, peppers, and mushrooms.  When dinner was all cleaned up everyone went upstairs to get ready to go out to the club.  Svenja and I decided that we didn't want to go so we stayed behind and played UNO for a while, then went to bed.  We were Tired!

One of the Kickass buildings in Glasgow

The next day we just walked around town and saw a lot of the city.  We also took a lot of 'Family Photos' that I will post later once Julia uploads them..  I don't have much to say about Sunday other than we did  A LOT of walking, and when I say a lot I mean a lot!  I guess that I will say that one of the first things we did was went to the Botanical Gardens, pictures posted below.  Well, actually I don't have any of the gardens, but I do of the trails that we walked on, and they were beautiful.  It was mid morning and there was fog, it was something you would think of if I said Scotland.  Beautiful scenery and a soft fog.  Once we toured as much as we could before our feet screamed we went back to the hostel to just chill and get ready for dinner.  We decided that we would go out to a pub for dinner and 2 of our hostelmates joined us.  After the food was eaten we headed back to get ready for bed.  Although, we did not go directly to bed, we went downstairs to the common area and played a few hand of UNO before calling it a night.  We had to be out of our room by 10 the next morning.

Monday morning came at the usual time and we left the hostel and headed toward the train station.  We were going to store our suitcases there so that we wouldn't have to carry them around the city for 5ish hours.  With the luggage all packed away we stopped to get coffee (frosted mint hot chocolate for me, didn't feel like a chilled mocha today) Warm beverages in our hand we started in the direction of the bus station.  We were going to try and catch a bus to go see this really cool house, only it turned out to be even better than imagined.  When we got our bus and were dropped off at our location we started down the trail.  The site was beautiful and we had to go see the cows.  Catherine was in Love with them.  They were quite cute!  After the cows we went to the house, and they had the largest collection of Spanish Paintings outside of Spain, really neat!   After we toured the house and got our feet a little dirty we headed back to the city to go find someplace to eat.  The previous day we walked by a bakery that had a cafe upstairs and so we decided that we would go have lunch there.  When lunch was over we went to the grocery store to get food for the long train ride home.  A little while later we headed toward the train station to retrieve our luggage and catch our train home.  Thankfully I brought my IPod and my Nook, that kept me quite occupied for the long trip.  By the time I got back to Hull I had finished one book that I had started earlier, finished a whole other one and started on a third.  (They were not that long of books, so don't panic! )  Finally we were home, because I don't know if I could have read one more word!

A trip out of town to see one of the oldest houses in Glasgow?

I think.

 The gardens at the house.

Svenja and Me with the cows :)

Today has not been anything spectacular, I went to class and we talked about Frank Lloyd Wright, one of my favorite people to talk about!  Whew, then after class it was homework and a 2 hour nap. I think I deserved that, even if I didn't I was going to take it anyway!  Haha. So until I post the 'awkward family pictures'  Goodbye!

A few of our family photo's... I will keep posting as they are uploaded to facebook.   These are photos by Julia
